Bank and ditch
At the foot of the main south facing slope within croft 3, this complex of drystone and turf dykes crosses the croft fromm its centre towards its western extent. Starting at two south facing "lazy beds" each measuring 2 m by 4 m the wall runs west for 3 m before heading south for 20 m. Along its length as it runs south is a drain some 0.3 m deep and 0.75 m wide. This drain is stone lined and of no apparent purpose starting and terminating on open ground. As the drain terminates the wall turns to the west and runs as a revetment to the croft boundary. 2-3 m to the west of the drain is a second turf bank that also runs north-south.
Field walking on 28/6/94.
