Enclosure
This drystone enclosure is rectilinear and measures 21 m by 12 m at its south end, tapering to 5.5 m at its north end. The walls on this structures west, east and north side are of less substantial construction and appear to be abutted to the southern wall, which is almost twice as thick. At the west end of the south wall, within the enclosure, the remains of a small enclosure measuring 2 m square may be discerned. Also in the centre of the north face of this south wall a large ambry or recess may be seen. This recess measures 0.75 m across and is 0.60 m deep, it is of corbelled construction unlike the more simple ambrys regularly seen in croft houses, and may be the remains of a bread oven or kiln.
Field walking on 1/7/94.
