Full Description

A programme of archaeological investigative works was undertaken in respect of the proposed access road from a Waste Water Treatment Works at Eoropie (centred on NGR NB 5144 6477). An evaluation was carried out from the 9th May to the 10th May 2007, and comprised of six trenches located within the footprint of the proposed access road.

A fragmentary buried soil horizon was uncovered at between 500mm and 900mm in depth, from which were recovered two sherds of possibly prehistoric pottery which inturn could indicate that the buried soil horizon is of a comparable age.
