Full Description

A programme of archaeological investigative works was undertaken in respect of the proposed access road from a Waste Water Treatment Works at Eoropie, Isle of Lewis. The evaluation comprised of six trenches located within the footprint of the proposed access road.

The only features uncovered were a furrow and a composite wall recorded in trenches 1 and 2 respectively, and both relate to a field system depicted on the 1st edition OS map (1853) and would appear to be 18th to 19th century in date.
