Full Description

Old Trackway
An old trackway appears from under the modern single track road as it turns a corner at the north end of the village, and continues straight on up a hill. This is likely to have been the main thoroughfare before the tarmac road was constructed, although not before 1854 as it is not present on the 1st ed. OS map. It is, however, shown on the 2nd edition OS map (1897) splitting in two at this poing. It is constructed of slabs and blocks of gneiss laid into a matrix of grave. Drains can be made out at either side of the track.
