Full Description

204: NB 0475 3455
Blackhouse
Situated 15m from 185 (NB 0475 3465), this double blackhouse is orientated north-south and measures 15 x 10m. These two houses are of similar size and share a common wall but have no linking door suggesting that they are two dwellings and not a dwelling with an attached barn as is seen elsewhere in this locale. These houses survive as an earthen core of the wall standing up to 1.3m in height. At the south end off this structure is a small attached enclosure measuring 3 x 2.5m and built onto the southern end of the western house.
