Full Description

The Caraidh/Fish Trap
A further 30m or so out into the sea from the stepping stones an ancient fishtrap can be seen at very low tide, running perpendicular to the narrow inlet. It has been constructed from large boulders - both natural beach boulders and some dressed stone of the same red variety found in the stepping stones. These stones probably had some form of wooden or wickerwork superstructure to complete the original working fish trap, no longer visible.
