Full Description

… the comparatively well-preserved ruin of a second blackhouse measured 19.2m north to south and 6.2m east to west. The walls of drystone gneiss boulders were 1.1m thick and stood to 1.4m high. A fireplace remains in situ in the south end and an internal dividing wall around the mid-point of the long walls was apparent. At this same point, a side room adjoined the northeast corner of the main building, measuring 10.5m north to south and 3.2m east to west, of the same construction as the main house. A small (4 x 3m) sheepfold in the north end represented later re-use.
