Full Description

A stone built well or outflow housing was encountered at NB 03372 31865 to the north of the lazy beds, constructed of delaminated basalt blocks and slabs, partially lime mortared and rising to 0.5m above the present ground surface. This feature was set into the hillside on its western side, forming a D-shaped mound with the straight side facing out to the southeast with an aperture in the centre from which near standing water slowly issued.
