Full Description

The remains of a corballed cairn were identified in an eroding section of machair coastline by a member of the public. Following a site visit by CnES Archaeology Service these remains were investigated through HES Human Remains Call off Contract 07/02/17.
The partial excavation of this cairn indicated that approx two thirds of the structure had been eroded away. The dimensions of the remaining structure measured 2.3m at the base with a maximum height of 0.8m.
No human remains or artifacts were recovered.
