Full Description

A possible settlement or burial mound approximately 50m in length and 20m width, orientated NE / SW. The top of the mound is defined by a sub-rectangular structure with rounded corners and comprises of turf and stone. A later square structure of drystone work has been inserted into the NE end of this. From this structure the overall mound trails off towards the NE and additional less well defined structures are apparent. The NE extent of the mound is defined by an apparent horseshoe shaped turf structure. Situated around the southern and SE sides of the base of the mound are at least 6 satellite features (sheilings) of either circular or horseshoe shape and comprising of turf and stone.
There is no representation of this feature on any Ordnance Survey maps or Balds 'Map of Harris' (1805). It seems likely that this feature has prehistoric origins and has had later episodes of structures built in, on or around it.
