Full Description

These works were carried out in a response to storm damage of the existing sea defences. The shoreline erosion was cleaned by hand revealing a sequence of at least five midden deposits with some containing a substantial quantity of ceramics. At the far east of the site was an area of peat ash and black sand possibly representing the remains of a hearth. Other possible deposits may represent a structure associated with the hearth as well as pit and ditch features visible in the shoreline section.
