Full Description

Remains of agricultural activity, occupation and burial were recorded through a program of evaluation by Wessex Archaeology, this followed on from earlier investigations in the area by AOC. The remains comprised of cist burials, inhumation and cremation; agricultural evidence in the form of ard marks and roundhouse and wheelhouse house structures.
These features potentialy date from the Early Neolithic through to the Middle Iron Age.
Analysis of the burials indicated an Early Bronze Age date. C14 dating of the burials by AOC dated between 1800-1490BC, burials dated by Wessex had comparable dates of 1880-1520BC.
