Full Description

Small part of a defensive rampart comprising of stone built lime/shell bonded battered wall face with angled corner. The character of this wall indicated its comparison with other Cromwellian defensive structures elsewhere.
The full width of the wall was not seen, however it extended for a least 2.9m.
The earliest deposits encountered during excavation have been tentatively interpreted as medieval.
