Full Description
Ruins of a preclearance farmstead . Seen as a cluster of large grassed over turf and stone mounds it gives the impression of a sub rectangular blackhouse style house with outshots to east and west. This arrangement is consistant with the depiction of a roofless structure with a triangular enclosure attached to it, as seen on the 1st ed 6" OS map sheet (1853). These ruins are located within a later drystone square enclosure. A later small square arrangement of stones is located at the interior of the southern corner of the enclosure. Lazy bed field systems surrounds this site; however the relationship is not clear.
Seen on AP'S and site visited. Dimensions approx 20m x 13m.
