Full Description

At least four possible structures located on two apparent raised grassy areas. Not depicted on the 6" Ist ed OS sheet. Identified on AP's.

This site comprises of a large elongated oval grassy mound 32m x 22m, located high up on the hillside and surrounded by deep heather. The last phases of activity on this site are probably sheiling type occupations with a large sub oval stone & turf structure on its highest piont with a further structure apparently built over a possible platformed area. Other structures are also noted; however they seems of a less substansial construction and may represent more temporary features. No larger stones were noted around the base of the mound, other than tumble; however the heather obscured a complete view of this feature. The size of the mound and its location would suggest a prehistoric origin to this mound.
