Full Description

As part of the Lewis Lochs Project a team from Reading & Southampton Universities investigated this site.
A submerged stone causeway runs out from the nearest promentory of land to the crannog. The stone built islet has moderate vegitation cover with a single drystone cairn on it.
A dive survey revealed structural timbers and clear stratigraphy, large amounts of pottery and worked quartz were identified in eroding sediment deposits.
All pottery was identified as Neolithic.
This site has huge research potential.
