Full Description

Approximately 5m stretch of early to mid 19th century midden deposits located on the edge of the eroding salt marsh. Deposit comprises of numerous glass bottle fragments, some of which appear to have been blown, numerous ceramic fragments, some hand painted, large animal bones, some 'fe'objects and the remains of footwear. There are no habitation sites close by, with this area being located outside of the defensive sea dyke. This material represents a dump and this is consistant with the area adjacent to Sand Street that was also used at alter date, to a similar purpose.
