Full Description

A large mound set in a machair environment, comprising of two grass covered parallel banks of four closely related depressions set within it. It is unclear what this feature is, possibly some sort of industrial activity?
This feature was noted during monitoring of Scottish Water works running parallel to the road, which identified buried archaeological deposits (on going).

Excavation of archaeological features located in a pipeline corridor, c. 20m directly south; seems to indicate that this is one large site (although there is nothing visible on the ground at the southern end). Interpretation of the excavated site seems to indicate that this structure was used for stock management. The date for these features is suggested as 14th - 17th century.
