Full Description

At least 8 individual mounds over an area of around 100sq.m. Only one of these mounds supports a pair of stone built bothain, the others all have the eroded remains of turf walled structures, most with two structures, some with only (apparently) one bothan. The main mound is situated at NF 7764 2446, adjacent to the river where there is a 'line of stones' possibly stepping stones, but given that the stream is so shallow there, it seems more likely that these represent a stone setting for a turf dam placed to create an artificial deeper pool for gathering water for consumption and possibly cleaning/bathing.
