Full Description

During a site visit by CnES Archaeology Service a conspicuous low circular mound was noted. The dimensions of this feature were approximately 12m in diameter, a small part of which extends into the croft to the north. Other features were noted within this field; however they seem likely to be later, possibly associated with road building , cultivation and the existing house.
It is worth noting potentail similarities with the neolithic kerb cairn (SMR.2280) at Olcote, Breasclete Park, just to the north.
K.Murphy (Arch CnES) November 2021

Archaeological evaluation ahead of development investigated this feature. This mound comprised entirley of peat is likely a dump, resulting from peat stripping for field improvement. No archaeological layers or deposits were identified.
