Full Description

Crash site of an Armstrong Whitworth Whitley (BD434) from 58 Squadron Stornoway. This aircraft was detailed for an anti submarine sweep on the 19th September 1942. Engine failure shortley after takeoff resulted in a crash landing. All crew survived the accident; however the aircraft was destroyed by fire.
Location for this site is unclear, but it was presumably somewhere between the airfield and Stornoway.
