Full Description

Balds Map of Harris (1805) indicates a settlement contained within a head dyke and annotated 'Chillibost', in this general area. Currant AP's show a ruined circular enclosure with an attached structure, several other stone built buildings are also located nearby. There is extensive cultivation ridging over this area. A linear head dyke is located to the south west; this is in variance with the curving dyke depicted on the 1805 map and probably reflects the later land reorganisation of 19th century.
