Full Description

A raised grassy mound next to and above the coastal edge comprising of up to four sheiling type structures; these vary in plan from sub-circular to sub-rectangular). Extensive stone work was noted around the base of this irregular mound which corresponded to the grass covered bank features above. Additional rabbit burrowing on the top of these features confirmed extensive stone work with several courses of walling visible (3 ceramic sherds including a rim were recovered from this activity). This location is not a typical location for sheilings and these structures may be associated with marine exploitation; alternatively these ruins may represent beehive sheilings. These features are approximatly 5m in diameter.
