Full Description

Stone structure that crosses the river. Current appaerance looks like a ford or remains of a causeway. The 6" 1st ed Ordnance Survey sheet depicts a feature on either side of the bank protuding into the river. The Abhainn Dhubh water level appears raised, behind this. The map sheet is annotated ' Highest piont to which spring tides flow' at this piont, so this feature was likely a dam or sluice of some description.
