Full Description

Landowner noted stratified layers while digging a hole. Archaeologists working at Cuinabunag (MWE150336), to the south recognised similair deposits to those identified in the settlement mound.

Site visit to review recent hole locations showed typical midden material comprising of ceramic fragments, marine shells and animal bone. The landowner suggested the midden layer is approximatley 1.8m below the surface.
