Full Description

NA74NW 2 7238 4683.

A constructed well was discovered, not very far from the lighthouse on Eilean Mor, by the keepers about the beginning of 1968 (Information
from the 'Stornoway Gazette and West Coast Advertiser, 2 March 1968).

A stone lined oval well 1.5m by 1.0m by 0.5m deep in which there is a slight seepage of water lies above a geo at NA 7238 4673. It may be associated with St Flannan's chapel, but no evidence for this was found. Visited by OS (R D) 16 July 1971.
