NB24NW 1 249 483.

(NB 249 483) "Rudh' an Dunain ... A hold, prominent, rocky point of land, on which was formerly a Castle or Fortress, but the site of which was washed away by the sea."
Name Book 1852.

Some say a small, stone stronghold existed here, but beyond a small mound no sign of fort can be seen."

No trace of any artificial structure can be seen on Rudh' an Dunain. Visited by OS (R L) 17 June 1969.
