Two mills are depicted on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Island of Lewis, Ross-shire 1898, sheet 12).
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 15 July 1997.

Field survey in 2016 revealed that one mill (a) survived in good condition, whilst the other (b) could not be located. Mill (a) was found to comprise an oval structure measuring approximately 8m E by W and 6m wide. The mill was constructed from large undressed and unmortared boulders. The circular base quern measuring 1m in diameter was found in situ at the centre of the structure. On the S side of the structure, a small square opening is present presumably for the water entering from the lade/sluice while there are two further outflows, one is located on the N side of the structure emptying into the burn for when the mill was in operation with another on the E side which it is presumed comprises an overflow.

It is possible that the second mill was demolished; a pair of millstones (upper and lower stones) flank the entrance to the adjacent house called 'The Registry'.
