'A pile of stones, such as would be used in building. They appear to be of considerable antiquity, but present nothing remarkable'.
Name Book 1850.

Carn Urrahag, a natural amorphous mass of large boulders about 120.0m WNW-ESE by about 30.0m transversely, in which there is no trace of artificial features, save for some small shielings on the S side.
Visited by OS (N K B) 21 June 1969.

Terminal? morraine - large stones aividhs both circular and rectangular, particularly on E (loch) side. Rock shelters in large rocks at top E craggan pot, shells especially limpets, winkles.

On the W (seaward) side hints and suggestions of large structures - fragmentary walls, levelled areas etc..
