NB43NW 3 448 357.
NB 448 357. Iron Workings: On machair hillock near shore, 0.5km SE of Tong Farm buildings. Numerous iron-containing fragments have been recovered during ploughing. The form of these suggests that primitive bowl-shaped kilns, and more advanced kilns with separate runnels for iron and slag, were both used at this site.
