"Clach Steim" or "Clach Steim": "four standing stones, forming a rectangular figure", about 3ft high, irregular in shape and about 6ft apart.
Name Book 1852.

"Standing Stones, Clach Stein .... three large boulders, two erect and one prostrate. The most northerly is 4ft 8ins high and 10ft 10ins in girth at the base: the other erect stone, a rough boulder, 3ft 4ins high and 9ft 3ins in girth, lies 10ft 6ins to the SW, and the prostrate slab, an irregularly-shaped stone, 6ft in leng- th, 4ft in breadth and 21ins thick, lies about 8ft to the SSW of the former and 3ft 1in from the latter."
RCAHMS 1928, visited July 1914.

Only the two upright stones desribed by the Commission remain at NB 5349 6417. The prostrate boulder was removed at least thirty years ago. Locally known as Clach Stein.
