Full Description
NL69NE 7 6516 9811.
T67: Situated 20m from NL69NE 6, and in some respects similar to it, this stone-built structure, sits on a small rocky hillock, enclosing an area 2m by 1.5m. It differs from NL69NE 6 in several notable respects, however. There was no suggestion that the top and sides of the hillock had been prepared by infilling clefts and the structure is constructed of drystone walling of haphazard construction. Although the stones were well bedded, excavation revealed that they sat on a thin layer of silty peat rather than bedrock. It is suggested that the structure is of relatively recent origin, probably a shelter (type C) for casual use.
