(NB 099 212) 'Six shielings, two of which are in ruins...' Thomas illustrates and plans one of these, still occupied c. 1867.

Four roofed shieling-huts and two unroofed shieling-huts, which are annotated as Ruins,  are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire, Island of Lewis 1854, sheet 35). Five black dots which may indicate the location of unroofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1973).
