Two shielings, built of peat moss sods and stones, inhabited for about six weeks in the summer.
Name Book, 1851

The OS 1:10,000 map of 1973 shows a single stylised shieling-hut at NB 1862 2283, with two others in the vicinity, at NB 1846 2286 and NB 1857 2302.

Two roofed shieling-huts are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire, Island of Lewis 1853, sheet 31). Three unroofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1973).
