NF98SW 26 9327 8287.

'A place of sepulture for persons who may be drowned in the Bay or neighbourhood, and for strangers who may die in the district.'
Name Book, Inverness-shire (Hebrides).

A densly packed burial ground enclosed by a sub rectangular dry stone wall. Numerous grave markers of unworked stone are visible in linear arrangements. Some include horizontal slabs, other more formal grave markers are also present,including several war graves. One grave is enclosed by decorative iron fence work. This site is depicted as an unenclosed burying ground on Balds Map of Harris (1805) & appears as an oval shaped enclosure on the 6" 1st edition Ordnance Survey sheet (1878).
