The remains of a wooden vessel carrying a cargo of slate and coal are eroding out of a sand dune above the present high water mark (at NF 69177 06021). Photographs, a sketch and small finds (iron nail and fragments of coal and wood) have been sent to Dr R Langhorne, Museum nan Eilean, Stornoway.

19 March 1993. An old wreck is reported to have been uncovered during movement of sand dunes just west of the airport building on the Isle of Barra. Apparently, it had cargo of slate and coal.
