Listed among a number of villages 'of 18th-century or earlier origin and deserted in the 19th-century' planned by I A Crawford [on behalf of the School of Scottish Studies].

Four unroofed buildings and an enclosure with an attached length of wall are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Hebrides, South Uist 1880, sheet liv). Two unroofed buildings and a two compartment enclosure with an attached length of wall are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1970).
