Full Description
NL69SW 50 629 942
A very distinctively boat-shaped setting of stones was found at NL 629 942, measuring 11m by 3.9m E to W, with a relict orthostat boundary curving to avoid it.
K Branigan 1992
VS35 (NL629942) A boat-shaped stone setting, 11 x 3.9 m, oriented east-west. Eighteen stones mark its outline, an estimated five or six missing, mostly from the prow although the prow itself is marked by the biggest stone of the group. A very low relict stone and earth bank runs on roughly the same alignment and the stone setting was at first thought to sit over the bank. Careful study reveals that the bank curves to avoid the setting, and then resumes its original alignment. The purpose of the structure is uncertain; this example appears to be of some antiquity.
