VN43: A midden and buried land surface; the midden up to 0.5m deep and with traces of simple stone structures within it. A local crofter, John Allen Macneil, records seeing buried structures c.15m back from the edge of the sand cliff, at a point where there is a depression. Small scraps of pottery and two pieces of flint including a small thumb-nail scraper were seen by us in the midden. The midden is exposed in a low sand cliff face which is on the south side of the west-facing Traigh Varlish and is hence subject to considerable erosion each winter.
