T29 is a cairn of stone set amongst the ridges and furrows of a set of lazy beds to the E of the blackhouse NL69NW 7.06. It has no apparent structural design, but is of greater diameter and height than is normal for field-stone clearance cairns. It was therefore decided to excavate a single quadrant to determine its nature.
The SW quadrant was de-turfed in 1989 and sufficient stonework removed to determine that there was no structural element and that the monument was most likely an unusually large clearance cairn. No dateable material was recovered, and the stonework was replaced.
