Full Description

NF60SE 20 685 049.

(Group ; NF 685 050) Six hut circles, all on low ridges above the stream and showing up as green patches on the dark hillside. In one (A - NF 6862 0499) was seen a small shell midden with pottery of broch type. (Information from C F Tebbutt, 1959)

Eight green mounds, surrounded by heather and outcrop rock, each containing the remains of shielings certainly not hut circles.
The shielings are round, oval or rectangular, and vary from 2.0m in diameter up to 6.4m by 4.0m. The footings remain up to 0.4m in height. No trace of pottery or shell-midden was seen in 'A'.
