(NF 7033 0675) Burial Ground (NR) (Disused)
OS 6"map, Inverness-shire, 2nd ed., (1904)

Martin (M Martin 1934) mentions a chapel about half a mile south of St Barr's Church (NF70NW 3), on the south side of the nearby hill, and Gordon mentions Traigh Mhor as the site of the chapel of Cill Mhuire (Kilmoire or St Mary's).
The Name Book (1878) notes 'a very small and ancient Burial Ground' with walls about 1ft high (the 6"map shows a small rectangular detail which may be the remains of the chapel, but perhaps it should be noted that a "St Mary's Chapel" is mentioned at Cille-Bharra.)
M Martin 1934; Name Book 1878; S Gordon 1950.

The published 'Burial Ground (Disused)' comprises the grass- covered remains of a building, 5.6m E-W by 2.9m transversely, with walling of faced stones bonded with shell-mortar. There is a possible internal sub-division and it is possible Cill Mhuire. No trace of the burial ground could be found.
Surveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (R B) 23 May 1965.
