Full Description
NF70NW 9 705 070.
On the slopes of Ben Eoligarry are a few erosion patches in the blown sand, exposing shells, bones, iron slag, sherds etc. The only noteworthy find was a fragment of the Jurassic fossil Gryphaea which can only have been brought by human agency, since the nearest natural occurence is in Skye.
J Davies 1973.
NF 7026 0691
Upcast from rabbit hole on lower slope of ben Eoligarry contained a piece of iron slag, otherwise oncly cockle shells with some winkle and snail shells. Appears to lie c. 40m lower than previous finds of iron slatg at NF 705 070
