Full Description

NF71SE 11 7902 1140.

(Area NF 791112) Group of three ring cairns found beneath 5ft of peat. Look like hut circles with small central cairns. Signs of firing beneath them. Fourth small cairn without ring.

NF 7902 1140. This group of cairns lies on the northern edge of a shoulder of the hill which overlooks Haun at a height of about 100' OD. The three ring cairns comprise circles of small boulders, from 5.4 to 6.9 in. diameter with small central mounds of earth and stone from 1.8m to 2.2m diameter and no more than 0.2m high. A small mound of stones similar to the central mounds is overlayed by the NW arc of the northern- most cairn circle. The ringless cairn is a sub-circular stony mound c 5.0m diameter and 0.5m high.

Visited by OS (J T T) 18 May 1965.

EF 34: Abhainn na Sgiot Cairns, described by Babtie Group as approximately 5 cairns, which may have been kerbed. Bronze Age.
