Full Description

NF71SE 5 unlocated.

A bone object, found in Eriskay, Outer Hebrides was donated to the NMAS by Dugald MacMillan postmaster, Eriskay. It measures " 1 5/8 inch in length, tapering from 13/16 inch to 11/16 inch in breadth, and 5/16 inch in thickness, with two projections at one end perforated as for a hinge, and a deep transverse groove at the other end, the projecting parts above and below thus formed perforated vertically in two places as if to receive the end of a strap."

Dugald Macmillan died many years ago; no further information

EF 40: This bone object could be prehistoric, also later dates are also possible.
Impact Description: The location of this find spot is unclear, and it is not known whether it coud be affected.
