NF72SW 6 centred 72 23.

Wedderspoon mentions the remains of a beehive shaped structure "on a reef of rock in the sea near Askernish in South Uist."
J Wedderspoon 1915.

No trace of this structure was found on the reefs at NF 722 244 & NF 724 238. There are no other reefs in the vicinity of Askernish.
Visited by OS (W D J) 6 May 1965.
