An Carra is a standing stone 17' high, 4 3/4' broad and 2' thick. Its width is regular for more than half its height, after which it tapers towards the top.

The monument known as An Carra, standing stone comprises a standing stone of prehistoric date, visible as an upstanding monument, and most likely relates to ritual activity of Neolithic or Bronze Age date. The area to be scheduled comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is circular, with a diameter of 1m centred on the standing stone.

…During the walkover 2007, it was noted that the standing stone is in good condition, public access to the stone is gained by crossing a wooden stile near the access road to the treatment works.
