The authority for this site stated that when "he stood in it about 50 years ago, it was then a small chamber, about 7 or 8 feet long, built of stones". Since then, the area had been covered with several feet of sand and he was not certain he was pointing out the exact site.
Name Book 1878.
Only a few stones, exposed by rabbits, could be seen in 1915 at the position marked on the OS map, as the site of an earth-house.
RCAHMS 1928.
No trace of this earth-house is visible.
