Full Description

NF74NE 14 79 46.

A small barrel shaped drystone structure, 1 1/2 ft diameter by 1 1/2 ft high, was uncovered by peat cutting in 1915 about 15 yards from the western shore of Loch an Ietcher, near its northern end, about 1 mile south of Carnan Post Office, South Uist. The cover-stone was about 9ins below the surface and the cavity was empty.
RCAHMS 1928.

The name ' Loch an Ietcher' is not known on the island, no further information was obtained concerning the site . Carnan post office in 1928 was at NF 7995 4676.
